Micro Skin Needling
Skin Needling
What is micro-needling/skin needling?
Skin needling is a process that uses the procedures of using a state-of-the-art pen like device with microscopic needles to penetrate the skin. Tiny micro wounds are made in this skin within the dermis and epidermis layers. This process rejuvenates the skin by promoting collagen and skin cell recovery. This will encourage a natural healing response from the skin, creating a more youthful, vibrant look.
Benefits of skin needling
Skin needling is excellent for treating fine lines in the face, pigmentation problems, acne scaring or uneven texture in the skin. Clients report their skin feeling tighter and more youthful within 3 weeks after the process.
Is skin needling safe?
Yes, skin needling is very safe. Most skin types can easily tolerate the procedure, even many with sensitive skin. As each skin is individual you will need to speak with your therapist to assess if skin needling is the correct treatment for your needs.
Can you have skin needling after fillers or Botox?
Your skin therapist will ask you if you have fillers or Botox in your face at least four weeks before the process. Skin needling can break the fillers down and potentially move it around. Make sure you have waited over a month before engaging in skin needling.
How long after skin needling do you see results?
Within the first week, you should see signs of tightness, and then over the next few weeks, you will start noticing a reduction in fine lines and hyper-pigmentation. Results vary from person to person, so chat to your therapist about how many sessions would be best for you.
Skin needling aftercare
It is normal to experience redness for 2 – 3 days post-procedure. Do not apply regular makeup to the face for 24 hours after and use the recommended serums that your skin therapist will recommend. After half a day, apply sunscreen when leaving the house and limit your time outside because the skin is at a higher risk of UV damage.
Does skin needling hurt?
The pen moves very quickly, so the process doesn’t take a long time, so even without the numbing agent, it is over swiftly. Pain afterwards is uncommon; the only common effect is redness.
How many skin needling sessions do I need?
You will see results after 2 – 3 treatments, with each treatment being about 4 to 6 weeks apart, depending on the recommendation of your therapist. A series of 6 treatments will give optimal long-term visible results.
You will be obsessed once you see the results this process can bring! Have a chat with Sheree to decide if skin needling is the right choice for you.
